More Than Sunday: Two Kingdoms
In Sunday's message (10/13), we heard about two Kingdoms: the one of light and the one of darkness. I loved when Fox said that there's a world that God invites us into that we can't participate in by natural means. It needs our participation but we can only do so if we are filled by the Spirit with wisdom and understanding.
Our God is so faithful in that He not only invites us into His Kingdom, but He gives us the knowledge and wisdom to be able to participate in it. It's an incredible honor to be invited in, equipped, and given gifts to use so we can continue to work with Him as He builds His Kingdom.
Further, He doesn't ask for perfection. He knows we are not going to get it right or be perfect all the time. But He does expect us to try. And with the knowledge and wisdom He's filled us with, we can navigate that. We can learn how to walk in the light.
This past week was challenging in various ways. I had to deal with situations in which I was not at fault but made to "pay the price." The consequences were handed out to me unfairly. That triggered me. I was angry, bitter, and resentful. And my behavior showed it. Needless to say, the message was timely for me. Because if I walk in the light, but my actions are anger, bitterness, and resentment, that's a problem. My behavior is not matching my position. But the good news is that the knowledge and wisdom He gives me will help me navigate walking in the light, and with time, my behavior will match up to the position I've already been given. That is, if I choose to lean into it asking for my spiritual eyes and ears to be opened.
I'm praying for myself and our body to be sensitive to the work the Spirit is doing in us. That there is true revelation of His invitation for us to participate. That we see opportunities that the Spirit brings up for us to change behaviors that do not match the position we are in.
