Communion Thoughts
During preservice, this past Sunday, we were taking communion, and while my mind was grasping for thoughts, I had something cross my mind that went along with something Kristina was saying. As she led communion she said something along the lines of, “not knowing what to say” and “being busy with doing things.”
This resonated with me on exactly what was happening at the last supper. Even in His last moments, Jesus told his best friends that He was going to lay down His life, and all they could focus on was DOING: Is it me that will do this? How can we stop this? Can someone take your place? What can we do?! They were so busy trying to do things that they missed what Jesus was doing.
I don’t want things and tasks to take me away from remembering the sacrifice Jesus made for me. I want to live out of that sacrifice. I, too, want to lay down my life for the glory of the Father.
If this resonates with you, join me in this prayer:
Thank you Lord for your goodness—that you would be mindful of us to impart thoughts like this into our souls. Let it be true in my life. Amen.

This is so good! What a reminder to live from what Christ has done rather than dwell on what I can do.
