Advent Liturgy

Overcome by darkness, bound in the shadow of death, crushed and imprisoned, the world seemingly without hope. From where will our salvation come? From whom will hope come and darkness flee?

The Light dawned, hope birthed among darkness. The root of David, the prophesied Messiah—Christ Jesus came, and the night was no more. He is the Light of the world, bringing life to those previously in darkness.

Not made for us alone, but for the world are we to shine. We have been made as candles, unable to be snuffed out, the light of Christ within. In the boldness of the Holy Spirit by the obedience of our Holy Father, we shall not hide away. For whom shall we fear? Place us on the lamp stand, put us on the hill. May we draw all men unto Christ.

For until us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulders. King Jesus—you are where salvation is found, from whom hope is delivered, from whom darkness flees.

Christ Jesus, forever and ever.

Amen
